Gov. Markell delivers his weekly address/YouTube screenshot.
In his latest weekly address, Gov. Markell reflects on the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School that took the lives of 20 first-graders and six adults last year.

In light of the shooting in Connecticut, Markell says steps are being taken to make Delaware schools safer.

"Here in the Laurel School District, administrators and law enforcement are among the first to finish the initial phase of the planning process using a new web portal," Markell says. "It helps ensure that they're ready for any threat by simplifying the planning process."
