Archmere's Burns heats up in the second half to secure conference victory

Archmere and Delaware Military Academy both hoped to secure its seventh victory of the season when they battled each other in a Diamond State Conference game on Friday evening.
In the first quarter, Darion Desgoutte scored seven points to give the Seahawks an early lead, but Archmere's Benjamin Revak closed out the quarter with a 3-pointer to give the Auks a 13-12 edge going into the second quarter.
DMA jumped ahead 23-18 when Jordan Sullivan drained a jumper, but it was Revak again to hit three to give the Auks a 24-23 lead at halftime.
The Seahawks opened the third with a 7-0 run after Brian Cameron sunk the three ball to lift DMA 30-24, but Archmere's senior guard Tyler Burns heat up to push the Auks ahead 43-38 at the end of three. Burns scored three 3-pointers, including one at the buzzer to finish out the quarter.
In the final quarter, DMA got within five when Cameron hit his second three of the game, but Archmere's Christian Conaty hit 8-8 free throws to secure the victory.
Burns, who only had two points in the first half, led all scorers with 23 points.
DMA's Cameron and Desgoutte led DMA with 17 points a piece.
Archmere improved to 7-1, while DMA fell to 6-3.
