Attempted robbery at Newark bank
By Michelle Provencher

An attempted robbery of a Newark bank ends abruptly Saturday morning, sending the suspect home empty-handed.

State Police say the suspect entered the T-D Bank, at 101 Hygeia Drive, just after 10 a.m.

The suspect allegedly passed a note to a bank teller demanding cash, but as the teller began unlocking the money drawer, the suspect fled.

No one was injured.

The suspect is described as a black male between 35 and 45 years old, standing about 5'11" with an average build and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.

There is no surveillance footage.

The attempted robbery is still under investigation.
