A stolen car, a handgun, marijuana and burglar tools were all found in, on or around a convicted felon arrested by Wilmington Police Wednesday night.

Officers in the area spotted a Jeep Cherokee that was reported stolen, and 22-year-old Therron Shehee was sitting inside.

Shehee allegedly took off on foot and tossed away a .22 caliber handgun when police approached him.

Police say after apprehending Shehee they found one gram of marijuana and burglar tools.

Shehee is barred from carrying a firearm due to his prior felony convictions.

Shehee is reportedly charged with possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, possession of burglar tools, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and other charges.

He is committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in lieu of $24,500 secured bail.
