The suspect responsible for stealing purses from elderly women has been caught by State Police.

27-year-old Elise Clark, of Wilmington, allegedly snagged an 81-year-old woman's purse out of her shopping cart at Acme last Monday, Jan. 6th. She then used the victim's credit cards to make several purchases.

Clark reportedly performed a similar theft at a Pathmark last Tuesday, Jan. 7th, stealing a 72-year-old woman's pocketbook as she was getting milk from the dairy case. She also used the second victim's credit card.

State Troopers determined Clark was the culprit and executed a search warrant at her apartment on the 1100 block of Lore Avenue on Saturday.

Investigators found nine bags of heroin, .1 gram of crack cocaine, three Seroquel pills and drug paraphernalia.

Clark is charged with several counts of theft, unlawful use of credit card, and drug charges.

She is committed to Baylor Women's Correctional Institute on $31,694 secured bail.
