Wilmington police are warning Hedgeville residents about a possible burglary trend occurring in the west side neighborhood.

Four burglaries have been reported this month at homes on the 700 block of S. Franklin Street, the 700 block of Warner Street and the 600 and 700 blocks of S. Harrison Street.

The most recent burglary happened on Saturday, police said.

Burglars forced their way into the residences through rear and basement doors and front windows during the daytime hours while the homes were unoccupied, police said.

Police say Hedgeville residents should vigilant and take note of suspicious activities and persons, especially if somebody is seen walking around in a backyard or possibly carrying household electronics.

Anyone with information can call the Wilmington Police non-emergency line at (302) 654-5151 or call 911.
