Footprints in snow lead police to alleged home invaders
By Amy Cherry

A man and five teens face charges of attempted robbery and home invasion in Edgemoor Gardens.

Police say they burst into a home in the middle of the night on the unit block of South Rodney Street. The homeowners were asleep but awoke to a loud thud and allegedly saw a man identified as Fernando Sierra at their stairs with a weapon.

Sierra, and the teenaged boys fled on foot.

Police tracked them down and arrested the men through footprints in the snow that led them to a nearby residence.

Sierra is being held at Howard Young on more than $150,000 bail. The teens, ages 14 through 17 were all committed to the NCCo Detention Center on $200,000 bail.
