By Tom Lehman

Two people are in critical condition after a crash involving four vehicles near New Castle, police said.

Police say a minivan was traveling northbound on South Dupont Highway when it crossed into the southbound lanes near Old State Road about 3:05 p.m.

The minivan hit the driver's side of a car then kept going north and glanced a freightliner truck before hitting a pickup truck head on, police said.

The driver of the minivan, who has not been identified, and the driver of the car, 18-year-old Bao Nguyen of New Castle, are in critical condition at Christiana Hospital.

Both truck drivers weren't injured. The investigation is ongoing.
