Blue Rocks slug their way to doubleheader win
By Don Voltz

The Blue Rocks smashed five home runs in a doubleheader sweep of the Potomac Nationals, 6-1 and 6-2.

Mark Threlkeld hit the only longball in the first game, but the Blue Rocks exploded for five runs in the 5th to put the game away.

In game two, Jared Schlehuber and Daniel Rockett hit back-to-back solo shots in the 5th inning, Michael Antonio added his own solo blast in the 6th and Threlkeld went deep for the second time on the night in the 7th.

The four home runs in the second game tied the Rocks' season high.

The doubleheader sweep was the second time that's happened this year for the Blue Rocks...they also swept Carolina back on May 21st at Frawley Stadium.

The Rocks and P-Nats play again tonight in Woodbridge, Virginia, finishing up a suspended game from last week followed by the regularly scheduled contest.
