Williams named to national post

Wilmington Mayor Dennis Williams has some new responsibilities.

Williams is a new Vice Chair of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Transportation and Communications Committee.

The committee considers matters related to the essential infrastructure needs of municipalities, such as transportation development, financing, and safety; and telecommunications access, innovation and implementation.

Williams, appointed by conference president, Mayor Kevin Johnson of Sacramento, California, will serve as Vice Chair for Passenger Rail.
