An automated license plate reader has led to the arrest of a woman police say had evaded more than $5,000 in tolls and fees.

Police arrested Mary Shiveler of West Depford, New Jersey Saturday afternoon after she crossed the Delaware Memorial Bridge. The license plate reader alerted law enforcement to her car's location.

Police charged her with multiple counts of toll evasion.

Police said Shiveler had ignored repeated written notices for each violation.

She was arraigned and released on $1,000 bail.
