Burglar fires shot at Lewes homeowner
By Associated Press

State police say a homeowner was shot at by one of two burglars who were breaking into his car in Lewes.

It happened about 4 a.m. Thursday on King Philip Way. Troopers say the homeowner was awakened by his garage door opening and went to investigate.

Officers say the homeowner saw two men rummaging through his car, which was parked in the driveway. Police say the suspects saw the homeowner and forced him to lie on the ground, then fired a handgun in his direction.

The homeowner was not hit. The suspects fled on foot.
