Governor Jack Markell (D) talked about efforts under his administration to motivate kids to learn by making their studies relevant to their futures in his weekly message.

"This year our STEM Council is bringing new, hands-on science activities into our middle and high schools and our students will be exposed to career paths in our fastest growing industries by working directly with professionals in science, technology, engineering, and math or STEM," Markell said.

In the Delaware Republican Party's weekly message, State Senator Colin Bonini (R-Dover) criticized Markell and Delaware Democrats following recent crime in Dover and Wilmington, saying they're not doing enough to help law enforcement.

"Authorities in many of our municipalities will tell you they lack resources and manpower. That’s inexcusable," Bonini said. "The governor and the majority party here in Dover need to ensure police forces throughout the state get the money they need to keep their neighborhoods safe."
