By Sean Greene 11:47pm, January 25, 2013 - Updated 12:37am, January 26, 2013Paul Worrilow and Nihja White were honored Friday night as the Outstanding Seniors on the Delaware football team at the Annual Blue Hen Touchdown Club Banquet Friday night.
Worrilow, a linebacker from Concord High School, earned the Captain's Award and the Baker-Taylor Award given for contributions in leadership, dedication, and determination. The four-year starter led the CAA in 2012 with 10.7 tackles a game, and was named 3rd team All-American by The Sports Network.
Wide Receiver White was named the Outstanding Senior on Offense and won the Winnie Mayer Outstanding Senior End Award. He caught 57 passes for 592 yards and one touchdown and became the first player in Blue Hen history to catch 50 or more passes in three straight seasons. White leaves the program 3rd in receptions and 6th in receiving yardage.
Other seniors honored at the banquet were offensive lineman Matt Becker, safety Tim Breaker, cornerback Marcus Burley, offensive lineman Nick Cattolico, running back/defensive back Walter Davis, offensive lineman
Jeff Haas, running back David Hayes, linebacker Mike Hirt, defensive tackle Alex Pihakis, defensive back Ricky Tunstall, and punter Rauley Zaragoza. Pihakis, Zaragoza, and Davis were not able to attend the event.
Former Head Coach K.C. Keeler was on hand to introduce the seniors, he was fired earlier this month after a 5-6 campaign in his 11th year on the Delaware sidelines.
