The Kent County SPCA seizes 30 exotic parrots that were all being kept in tiny cages in a Georgetown home.

The SPCA says some of the gorgeous birds have their feathers plucked and their damage to their beaks from stress.

Officials say this wasn't a case of animal hoarding, but rather a kind-hearted individual who had been trying to care for the birds, but fell on hard times.

Some of the birds are already up for adoption. But if you're considering adopting a parrot, the SPCA wants you to know it's a lifelong commitment. Parrots often live to be 80 years old.
