Guilty pleas entered in campaign finance case

A former liquor industry executive serving a two-year federal sentence in a campaign finance scheme has pleaded guilty in a related state case.

The News Journal reports that Chris Tigani pleaded guilty to three felonies on Tuesday. He was sentenced to probation to run concurrently with his federal release.

Tigani was accused of making illegal contributions to several candidates, including Gov. Markell and Lt. Gov. Denn.

In the federal court case, Tigani admitted using his family's company to bundle illegal contributions to state and federal candidates, including Vice President Joe Biden's 2008 presidential campaign.
