County police are looking for the man, who they say tried to abduct a nine-year-old girl at the Harbor House Apartments in Claymont.

It happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday on the 200 block of Harbor Drive, where police say the girl entered her apartment building and was returning home when a man grabbed her from behind.

Police say the child got a chance to run away from the man and began screaming while she ran toward her apartment.

Family members then found the girl, who wasn't hurt.

The suspect immediately fled. He's described as 30 to 40 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches tall and 6 feet tall with a medium build, wearing a black T-shirt with a white bird design on the front.

Delaware Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of criminals or fugitives in this crime.
