WDEL's Carl Kanefsky has details of the 2013 Old Fashioned Ice Cream Festival.
Event coordinator Barry Schlecker says everyone should BYOB, bring their own blanket, because the festival in Rockwood Park has something for everyone.
"We'll have 10 to 12 local restaurants, 5 or 6 local dairies, about 8 snack foods, about 100 business vendors, some artists, some non-profits...we have a children's area run by the Boys and Girls Club," says Schlecker.
The venue will be expanded from the rolling green hills of Rockwood Park, since the Rockwood Mansion and the area behind the mansion will be put to use.
And Schlecker says despite all of the activities, ice cream and other eats, still take top billing.
"We'll have everything from BBQ, to pizza, to crab cakes. And as I say, all local restaurants, all local dairies, so it's a fun time. What's better than to eat, play, shop, and listen? Win, win, win.
Schlecker says he expects 20,000 people at this year's event, scheduled for June 29th and 30th.
