Delaware State Parks are offering activities all day long that won't break your wallet or keep you up past bedtime.
"You can picnic, you can go and explore our parks, and we have a ton of programs that you can just enjoy throughout the day," says Matt Ritter, Chief of Programming for the state's park department.
Killens Pond State Park offers red, white and blue crafts, face painting and hay rides. Other parks offer kayak eco tours, Tai Chi classes, sightseeing boat trips, sea glass jewelry making and outdoor concerts, including performers such as the First State Symphonic Band.
"Anywhere from the morning to the evening, all the way up to when the fireworks start," Ritter says.
