By Mark Fowser 1:18pm, September 9, 2013More than two dozen wounded military veterans and their families are wrapping up a vacation at the Delaware beaches - at no cost.
They were treated to housing, even free amusements and ice cream cones in Bethany Beach, courtesy of a program called Operation Seas the Day.
The idea originated with a discussion between two friends about the struggles that face military families, especially veterans who suffered serious injuries on duty.
Military members during their vacations were issued special tags, prompting some in town to stop, give them a hug and thank them for their service.
