Fogarty's 3 touchdowns lifts St. Mark's to 3rd victory

Brendan Fogarty's three rushing touchdowns helped St. Mark's cruise to a 33-13 victory against Sussex Central Friday night.

In the opening quarter, Spartans' T.J. Brown ran for a 52-yard touchdown. The extra point from Jeff Richards gave St. Mark's the 7-0 advantage.

With 11:08 left in the half, Amontay Clanton found Tarez White down field for the long receiving touchdown. The kick was blocked, and the Golden Knights trailed 7-6.

After a 45-yard rushing touchdown from St. Mark's quarterback Zach Whitehead and an added touchdown from Sussex Central's James Jenkins, the score was knotted at 13 going into the half.

The Golden Knights finished all its scoring in the first half. Costly turnovers put St. Mark's in good field position to score touchdowns in the second half.

Fogarty scored a 3-yard touchdown with 6:01 left in the third. He added two more in the final quarter.

St. Mark's handed Sussex Central its first loss of the season. The Golden Knights fall to 2-1 and host Sussex Tech next Friday. The Spartans (3-0) remain unbeaten and host Dover next Friday.
