By Mark Fowser 8:13am, October 2, 2013Delaware transportation officials say red light cameras have made intersections safer.
Red-light running crashes are down 29% and dangerous T-bone crashes have decreased by 47%, according to DelDOT.
Red light cameras were first installed in 2004 and are now operating at about 30 of the state's most dangerous intersections.
They capture two still images and a 12-second video each time a driver enters the intersection after a light turns red.
DelDOT has produced a new video which shows how intersections are chosen for the red light camera program.
