Video: Woodbridge vs. Tower Hill Division II playoff actionAfter #3 Tower Hill decided to go for two instead of kicking the extra point to tie with more than four minutes left to play, Woodbridge hung on to the lead and never looked back to hand the Hillers its first loss of the season and win 28-21.
Tower Hill scored first in the opening quarter with a 21 yard rushing touchdown from Jermaine Knotts Jr. The two point conversion was good to give the Hillers the early 8-0 lead.
Six-seeded Woodbridge answered quickly on its opening drive. Logan Wescott launched a deep touchdown to Bragg Davis to knot the game at 8-8, following a successful two point conversion.
Woodbridge (8-3) tied the game again before halftime. With one second left to play, Wescott gave the ball to Shedrick Rayford for the three-yard rushing touchdown. The Blue Raiders and Hillers knotted the game at 15.
After a scoreless third, the Blue Raiders took its first lead in the fourth. With a little more than 10 minutes left to play, Wescott scored on the keeper to lift his team 22-15.
With 4:35 left, Tower Hill answered with a Cole Wenzel touchdown. The PAT failed. With a minute left, Woodbridge scored one more touchdown off a Hillers' fumble and caught an interception to seal the victory.
Woodbridge awaits Saturday's games to find out what team the Blue Raiders will face next in the semifinals.
Tower Hill finished the season 10-1.
