Salesianum watched a two-possession lead quickly disappear in the final quarter. Dover knotted the game with 43 seconds left to play, but it was the Sals that took advantage of a fumble on the second play of overtime and won 41-35 with a Troy Reeder touchdown run.

No. 2 Sallies will face top-seeded Middletown in the Division I Football State Championship next weekend at University of Delaware.

The Sals scored first in the semifinals match up against the Senators on Saturday night, when Brian O'Neill caught a 58 yard touchdown pass from Matt Sgro.

No. 3 Dover answered with an 82 yard touchdown run from Marcellus Pack to tie the game 7-7.

Both teams exchanged two more touchdowns a piece, before knotting the score 21-21 at the half.

After a Dover fumble in the third, Reeder scored on a six yard touchdown to give the Sals the 28-21 lead. Michael Sanzone extended the Sals' lead 35-21 with four minutes remaining in regulation.

A minute later, the Senators proved ready to battle back from a deficit. Quarterback Nick Spadafino completed a 46 yard touchdown pass to Raekwon Bouges to cut the Sallies lead. Sallies then fumbled the ball with seconds remaining, and Darius Taylor sent the game in overtime with the 65 yard fumble return.

Although Dover fought until the very end, the Sals put a end to the Senators 9-3 season. Salesianum improved to 10-1.
