A man convicted of numerous criminal offenses in the Wilmington area has been declared a habitual offender.

The state attorney general's office says a superior court judge has sentenced 25-year-old Rashie Harris to life imprisonment under the state's habitual offender law.

The measure was enacted at the request of prosecutors.

Harris has been convicted on thirty different offenses, including attempted murder, kidnapping and the violent robberies of two Wilmington barbershops in 2011.

Harris's prison sentence includes an additional 527 years.
