Delaware State University took the interim title away from Keith Walker, naming him the full-time head coach of the school's men's basketball program.

Walker led the Hornets to a 5-6 record after replacing Greg Jackson who was 4-15 before being fired midway through the season.

The former head coach at Division II Shaw had been an assistant coach in Dover since 2000, including the team's MEAC Tournament Title and NCAA Tournament bid in 2005.

DSU President Harry Williams said Walker got his program back on the right foot: "Coach Walker did everything we asked of him when he agreed to be the interim head coach in last month of the past season. He stabilized the team, resulting in a more competitive unit on the court and a higher winning percentage."

Walker's credentials include a brief stint with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1985-1986 season.
